Food Finders’ Chief Operating Officer, Kier Crites Scherger, was presented the Duke Difference Maker Award at a Purdue men’s basketball game in December of 2017.
“As Indiana’s largest electric supplier, we have the privilege of working with a number of community leaders statewide,” said Dan Rhodes, Duke Energy’s Lafayette community relations manager. “Difference makers focus on improving their communities and go out of their way to bring about significant change. And they distinguish themselves from others by their dedication and impact.”
A Purdue University graduate, Kier started her career working in various capacities of the hospitality industry before discovering her passion for the nonprofit sector. She joined Lafayette’s Food Finders Food Bank, Inc. in 2010 as its first program coordinator. She has since worked across multiple areas of the food bank and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2015. In this role, Kier leads the food bank’s programs, development and marketing strategies. She recently earned her certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership through IUPUI.
Kier’s work isn’t limited to the food bank, she is engaged in our community through organizations such as RPM | Referral Powered Marketing | BNI Chapter of Lafayette, Indiana, Greater Lafayette Commerce, Tippy Connect Young Professionals, Greater Lafayette Immigrant Allies and the Younger Women’s Task Force of Greater Lafayette. Congratulations, Kier!
