Food Finders’ service area includes Tippecanoe and the 15 surrounding counties. COVID-19 brought many changes to the food bank. In addition to opening the Fresh Market, we doubled our efforts around resource coordination. Our programs team was reorganized so that our staff can have more of a presence across our service area – an effort we’ve been striving to accomplish for years.
Food Finders now has a team of four dedicated resource coordinators. This new team of experienced staff will build relationships with organizations in their respective counties in order to help meet the needs of the people who live there.
Resource coordinators will act as community liaisons working closely with our existing program partners. They will seek local partnerships to better understand the unique needs in each community and ways we can partner to serve our neighbors struggling with hunger.
Resource coordinators will be able to connect community members to healthcare navigation, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, housing, utility assistance, employment, education and more. Increasing access to these resources throughout our service area strengthens the support system and provides a safety net to prevent our neighbors from falling deeper into poverty.
This kind of outreach is possible thanks to generous donations from people like you.
