Thank you for caring for our community! We see the outpouring of support, and we appreciate each of you. Please bear with us as we adjust and modify our hunger relief programs – we are adapting daily as we work to keep up with this unexpected SNAP crisis.  

Food Finders’ priorities are to ensure that our neighbors are aware of all available food resources, to secure food resources, donations and volunteers to help with these additional efforts.  

We are currently working with our partner agencies and community leaders across the 16-counties served by Food Finders to schedule additional mobile pantries through November, to send additional food resources and support to our Partner Agencies and to mobilize volunteers to aid these efforts.

  1. Look out for our neighbors.
    Offer to pick up extra groceries, carpool to a local pantry or shop on their behalf if they’re unable to go, share extra food or meals, offer to babysit, or help with other tasks.

  2. Donate clean grocery bags for use at our Fresh Market.  

Food Resources

We are working to ensure that are food supply is stocked and that we can continue a steady supply of food to the more than 100 agency partners feeding our neighbors across our 16-county service area. Our partners are critical in this effort.

Fresh Market

Our Fresh Market food pantry is open 5 days a week and ready to serve. Please bring your own grocery bags and extra patience, as we expect to see a large influx of people seeking assistance this month.  

BackPack Program

FFFB is working with our 71 BackPack Partners and schools to ensure they have the resources needed and/or are ready able to serve additional students.  

Senior Home Delivery

Food Finders is accepting applications for the homebound grocery delivery program. This program will provide 25 pounds of groceries, including protein, dairy, and fresh produce, to homebound seniors twice a month. To qualify, applicants should live in Tippecanoe, Miami, or White County, be at least 60 years of age or older, unable to leave their homes due to medical, mobility, or transportation issues, and meet the income guidelines.

Volunteers

Our volunteer needs are changing daily. We are seeking additional volunteers for our Fresh Market shifts, we’re adding additional sort room shifts so that donated product is sorted quickly, we will add Mobile Box packing shifts as needed and will coordinate additional volunteers efforts for mobile pantries and our partner agencies as needed.  Get Involved Today.

  1. Door Dash – Waiving delivery and service fees for an estimated 300,000 grocery orders for SNAP recipients at Sprouts, Dollar General, Schnucks, Food Lion, Giant Foods, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Hy-Vee, Giant Eagle, and Wegmans.

  2. Wabash Township Trustee’s Office– Starting November 6th, and pursuant to a directive issued by Trustee Angel Valentín, the Wabash Township Trustee’s office will begin processing applications for emergency food assistance. This process will be available to Wabash Township residents who are experiencing disruptions to and/or receiving a reduced amount of their SNAP benefits. This emergency assistance will seek to alleviate the effects of the ongoing funding crisis on our most vulnerable residents. To receive emergency food assistance, impacted SNAP recipients who reside in Wabash Township will need to complete a short one page application and provide proof of residence in the Township, a copy of a state or federally issued ID, and proof of current SNAP benefit eligibility. Individuals will be able to apply for this assistance two weekdays prior to the date on which their benefits would have been loaded unto their EBT card (benefits are made available by FSSA on a rolling basis by last names, the schedule can be found here: www.in.gov/fssa/dfr/ebt-hoosier-works-card/hoosier-works-card-faqs/). In light of funding constraints, our Township will be providing food vouchers on a weekly basis for amounts equivalent to up to 25% of their monthly SNAP benefits. Approved applicants will be provided with a food voucher from a local grocery store to be able to purchase food items.
  3. Emergency Grocery Assistance– In response to the hunger crisis created by the federal government shutdown, Lafayette Urban Ministry, Fairfield Township, and Wabash Township will provide emergency assistance to purchase groceries to SNAP-eligible Tippecanoe County residents who will not receiving their regular monthly benefits during the shutdown. The township where you live will determine where you can receive assistance. You can determine your township here: censusreporter.org
