On Saturday, September 19, an unusual event took place in Brookston. Across the vast fields of Prairie View Farms, over 20,000 fans braved the elements to see country superstar Luke Bryan. For the past 17 years, Bryan has hosted his Farm Tour, a multi-stop affair in small towns across the United States with local farms serving as venues.
Since 2015, Bryan has partnered with Bayer to support rural communities through food and nutrition. At each tour stop, Luke Bryan and Bayer work with Feeding America to collect donations that support the surrounding community. Since the partnership began, 11 million meals have been donated to local Feeding America food banks.
For the tour stop in Brookston, Food Finders teamed up with Bayer to collect donations from incoming concert goers. In White County, 3,680 neighbors are food insecure, according to the latest Map the Meal Gap study, including 1 in 5 children. With the support of incredible volunteers from our partner agencies, White County Food Pantry and Brookston United Methodist Church, we collected 1,353 meals, all fueled by the generosity of those attending the show. Food collected at the event was then shared with our four local White County partner agencies.
Last week, Food Finders also joined United Way of Howard and Tipton Counties for their 2026 Campaign Kickoff Event. We were especially honored to be awarded a Community Investment Grant to support our work in Howard and Tipton counties.
Nationwide, among counties with the highest food insecurity rates, 8 of 10 are rural. At Food Finders, we are committed to serving all within our 16-county area and continuing to grow relationships across county lines.
