The new picnic tables from the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation at the Food Finders Summer Food Service site at Claystone are already a huge help. “In recent weeks, Bunder said the program has seen a surge of community support, including additional volunteers from Mayflower Mill Elementary School. The majority of the children served are future, current or former Mayflower students.

“The teachers were concerned about the kids and what was going on,” Mayflower Principal Shannon Cauble said. “The teachers basically took it upon themselves and have been taking days, helping out where they can. … A lot of our kids wouldn’t eat if they didn’t have Food Finders sitting out there.” Read more
