Mobile Pantry Outreach

The Food Finders Mobile Pantry Outreach Program takes a truckload of food out across its 16-county service area to efficiently reach the people that need it most while supplementing the work of other hunger relief agencies. It is a “farmers market” style distribution. The truck is filled with fresh produce, meat, baked goods, and a variety of other items. Mobile Pantry events are sponsored by area organizations and businesses in cooperation with Food Finders.

Food Finders Fresh Market

The Food Finders Food Bank Fresh Market is a low-barrier, emergency food resource. Our goal is to eliminate food insecurity by connecting people to food immediately and by connecting people to resources for the long term. It is our hope that by offering resource coordination in addition to grocery items we can assist clients in overcoming barriers that stand in their way to food security and self-sufficiency. More than a meal, the Food Finders Food Bank Fresh Market offers hope.

Resource Coordination Program

Food is typically the first resource families look for in times of crisis. We work to end hunger today. Our on-site food pantry and programming gives all social-service organizations access to a large pipeline of at-risk clients. This allows us to strengthen our community’s referral system, build stronger relationships between service providers and reduce service redundancies.

SNAP Outreach Program

The SNAP Outreach Program sends Food Finders’ outreach coordinators to strategic community centers, faith-based organizations, and residential housing facilities to help eligible Hoosiers sign up for SNAP benefits. BackPack Program

The BackPack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, especially on weekends. Each school’s administration selects eligible children, and then a backpack filled with six to eight pounds of nutritious, kid-friendly food is sent home with them each Friday. Volunteer Packing Partners fill the backpacks each week. Launched in 2006 with just two schools, the BackPack Program has grown to serve more than 2,300 children weekly in 78 schools across 16 counties.
