Preparing for Thanksgiving break, students in Tri-County High School’s warehousing class have more in mind than a few days off from school. These students recognize that break can also be a source of anxiety for their classmates facing food insecurity. Part of Food Finders’ BackPack Program, Tri-County Schools receive a monthly delivery of supplemental food items. After Food Finders delivers this food, the warehousing class manages the program, teaching students skills related to warehousing, while also having a direct impact on our community.

Bridget Redstone, the school treasurer, works with the warehousing class. Redstone shared that she spends hours planning the menus for these backpacks, ensuring that students who receive the supplemental food have enough options, especially over extended breaks
