SortRoomFOOD RESOURCE & EDUCATION CENTER –  SORT ROOM 

Perfect for individuals and groups up to 20 people; ages 9+

Millions of meals are distributed through our Partner Agencies and feeding programs thanks to our distribution center volunteers. Sort, pack or repack food, make and bottle laundry soap and more at our Food Resource & Education Center Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 11:00 am and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Individuals may sign up on the online calendar, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule a group.

Perfect for individuals and groups up to 8; ages 18+

Food Finders Food Bank is serving North Central Indiana through the J.P. Lisack Community Food Pantry – a client-choice food pantry located downtown Lafayette. Interact with and assist families by helping with shopping, checkout and stocking, easy cooking demos or helping with SNAP assistance. Also, ask about our Resource Assistant opportunity. 

 

 


 

Education

FOOD RESOURCE & EDUCATION CENTER –  EDUCATION PROGRAM 

Perfect for individuals and groups of various sizes; age requirements vary

Food Finder’s new nutrition and education programs are geared to provide ongoing education to the community on healthy lifestyle topics such as meal preparation, budgeting, wise shopping, basic cooking skills and nutrition education, healthcare navigation, smoking cessation and much more! Individual and group volunteers, businesses and community organizations are partnering with the food bank to host these classes. Please contact our Education and Resource Coordinator to find out how you can play a role in education!

 

 

 

 


 

 

WarehouseWAREHOUSE

Perfect for individuals; ages 18+

We occasionally need help picking up donations or delivering food to our neighbors in need. Volunteers partner with our warehouse professionals to pick up donations from local retails, deliver smaller loads of food to our partner agencies and to do a quick sort of bread items at the warehouse.

 

 

 


 

MobilePantryMOBILE PANTRY PROGRAM

Perfect for individuals and groups up to 15 people; ages 16+

Join us rain or shine to feed families in need across North Central Indiana. If you enjoy working directly with people and like to see immediate impact, this is the job for you! Volunteers assist our Mobile Pantry Coordinator with crowd control, greeting clients, distributing food and helping clients through the line. Shifts are usually three hours long and take place in various locations across North Central Indiana.

 


 

SFSPSUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM

Perfect for individuals and groups up to 15 people; ages 16+

Lunch Helper Volunteers are needed to act as extra hands while our staff distribute free lunches and lead children through a fun nutrition lesson or activity each day. Volunteers will help children through the lunch line, assist kids as they unpack and eat their lunches, talk with them and just provide additional support during this one-hour session.

Perfect for individuals and groups of various sizes; age requirements will vary by event

Food Finders Food Bank benefits from dozens of community events, fundraisers and food drives every year. Volunteer needs vary with each event and can include duties such as set-up, registration, bag check, crowd control, merchandise sales, manning a booth, refreshments, greeting guests, tear down, etc. Join us and take part in the festivities to raise awareness of our mission to end hunger!
