Commodity Supplemental Food Program supplies seniors with extra food.
What: Food Finders Food Bank is partnering with the USDA to bring the Commodity Supplemental Food Program to low-income senior citizens (at least 60 years of age) in Jasper, Tippecanoe, Howard, and Pulaski Counties in 2018. Interested participants should bring a photo I.D. and proof of income with them for registration.
Why: In order to bring this program to the community, a waiting list of eligible senior citizens must be established to demonstrate need. Food Finders Food Bank staff will be onsite during the following times this month to register interested senior citizens for this program.
JASPER COUNTY:
When: Monday, October 23, 2017, from 12:30 – 3 pm and Friday, October 27, 2017 from 10:15 am – 3 pm
Where: Jasper County Community Services at 967 E. Leopold Street in Rensselaer
TIPPECANOE COUNTY:
When: Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 9 am – 12 pm

About the Program:
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Once the program is approved for this county, registered senior citizens would receive a prescription food box of 20-40 pounds of nonperishable food items each month. The income guidelines to register for the CSFP program are as follows:
