As we approach the holiday season, it is important to keep in mind our fellow one in seven Hoosier neighbors who are struggling to know where their next meal is coming from or who are forced to choose between paying rent or putting food on the table. There are dozens of ways to fight hunger – but none as easy as this one!
On Saturday, November 28, Food Finders Food Bank will participate in the #HATCHtheHolidays online Twitter competition between the Purdue and Indiana University communities for a chance to receive 720 dozen eggsfor the winning team’s local food bank.
That’s where you come in! Participation is easy; simply use your Twitter account to share the hash tags #HATCHtheHolidays and #Purdue, on Saturday, November 28 during the Purdue vs. IU “Old Oaken Bucket” game to help win thousands of eggs for the food bank! To make it even easier, we’ve provided sample twitter posts and graphics to use – or feel free to be creative and come up with your own. But remember, the tweet only counts if it includes those two hash tags. Your participation is critical for Food Finders to win this competition, we hope that you will contribute to our egg-cellent victory!
Food Finders’ service area includes more than 86,000 residents who currently struggle to know where their next meal is coming from; nearly 30,000 of which are children. Our hungry neighbors would benefit greatly from the winning donation of 720 dozen eggs, as eggs are expensive and a product not often found in food pantries.
Help @FoodFinders beat IU and hunger too! #HATCHtheHolidays #Purdue
