BackPack Program Information
When local kids go hungry, we have their backs.
The BackPack Program is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available, especially on weekends. School administration selects the eligible children. Then a backpack filled with 6-8 pounds of nutritious, kid-friendly food is sent home each Friday. Volunteer Packing Partners fill the backpacks each week. The BackPack Program began in 2006 with two schools. Today, the program currently serves over 3,800 children in 14 counties.
