In Indiana, one in four children are food insecure. Children enrolled in the free and reduced lunch are often left with little or no food during the weekends. The BackPack Program ensures that area children have something to eat between Friday afternoon and Monday morning. Each Friday, students enrolled in the program receive a backpack filled with nutritious, non-perishable, kid-friendly food. Packing partners fill the packs each week. The BackPack Program is made possible through volunteers, generous donations and grants.
The Food Finders Mobile Pantry Outreach Program takes a truckload of food to areas to efficiently reach the people that need it while supplementing the work of other hunger relief agencies. It is a "farmers market" style distribution. The truck is filled with fresh produce, meat, baked goods and a variety of other items.

Mobile Pantry events are sponsored by area organizations and businesses in cooperation with Food Finders.
Life changes for children and parents when school is out for the summer. Providing healthy meals all summer on a tight budget is a problem that a lot of families face, especially families enrolled in the National School Lunch Program. Food Finders became a sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program in 2010 with 4 sites and greatly expanded in 2011 to 17. In 2011, over 10,000 meals were served to area children in need.
