IFCU Community Harvest

Industrial Federal Credit Union proudly presents...Community Harvest Food Drive

Special thanks to Industrial Federal Credit Union and all community partners for raising more than 150,000 pounds of food to support Food Finders Food Bank and our member agencies.

Mark your calendar for 2010 when you can join the fun and help those in need.

IFCU Community Harvest

This annual community-wide event brings together local businesses, schools, churches and citizens through a series of food drives and fundraisers all benefiting Food Finders Food Bank.  Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, the massive collaborative efforts of Community Harvest have provided mid-north Indiana with record amounts of food and funds to help feed the hungry in our communities.

Six great reasons to get involved with Community Harvest...

~Every donation counts, even a small package of oatmeal is important to a hungry child.

~Everyone can help!  Collect food in your neighborhood, school or church.

~Even a small amount of food assistance can help a family survive, pay their bills and maintain their dignity.

~Most of us simply have no idea what it is to go hungry.  But even workers with steady jobs are struggling to make ends meet.  An average family spends 7% of its income on food.  Those at poverty level spend as much as 30 percent.

~Far too many children in the Lafayette and Tippecanoe county area are going hungry.  Teachers are seeing the affects of this in behavior at school, hungry kids can’t concentrate and can’t learn.

~Our own senior citizens are having to choose between buying medication to keep them healthy and groceries.  Seniors have significant health effects when suffering from malnutrition.

Join us in 2010!
Students from Sunnyside Middle School filled the Food Finders van with 873 pounds of food collected during their "Fill the Bus" food drive.  Thanks Sunnyside!

2009 IFCU Community Harvest Food Drive continues until November 25th and will be featured during the FEED THE NEED 12 hour, marathon food drive presetned by WASK radio groups at all area Marsh Supermarket locations.
