Volunteer in your community
Share your time and talents with those less fortunate, encourage family members to join.
Sort or repackage food at the food bank.
Serve food at a community meal.
Pick up donations from a local business.
Participate in local “foodraising” events
Make and bottle laundry soap, which we give out on our mobile food pantries, at the food bank.
Collect food and water bottles and donate them to Food Finders
Host a Food Drive
Join together with your friends, co-workers or neighbors to host a food drive.
Work with church leaders to organize a food drive at your church.
Encourage family and friends to donate at special times for the family, such as birthdays and anniversaries, so that everyone may share in their joy.
Spread the word
about hunger
Send a letter to the editor of your local paper.
Tell your friends and family about the issue so they can spread the word.
Write your state and national legislators to show support for public policies that will eliminate hunger.

Opportunities for Children
With more young people than ever before interested in volunteering, we respectfully ask that volunteer groups with very young children plan to bring adult supervision or consider choosing outside activities to help the such as:
Hold a food or fund drive
Volunteer for special events for Food Finders
Help fill special food backpacks at local schools
Host a yard sale to donate proceeds to the food bank
Collect water bottles for our laundry soap project

Fun Food/Fund Drive Ideas
Offer a jeans day at your office for employees who bring in a food or fund donation
Place canned goods in your office cafeteria and allow employees to purchase items for Food Finders
Host Thrifty Thursday and ask people to donate store brand canned items
Organize a themed dinner food drive and ask people to bring non-perishable items for a specific meal
Hold a raffle at your office or school for guessing the weight of your food drive donations and donate the ticket funds to the food bank
